Arriving to Zaragoza

Flight to Zaragoza Airport

Zaragoza has a small airport with direct flights to national & international:

Zaragoza Airport is located 20 minutes to the city centre by taxi (~20€). A bus connection is also available every 30 minutes.

Flight to Madrid/Barcelona Airport + Highspeed Train

International Airports of Barcelona and Madrid offer well-extended connections to the main European and international countries. This is also a fast option as you can take AVE train (High-Speed) from Barcelona or Madrid to Zaragoza in ~1h30min. Trains run hourly from 5:50 to 21:00. Renfe

RENFE will offer 30% discount for VPH Congress delegates. We recommend that you buy and print your AVE tickets in advance. If you are buying a return ticket, you can
select fare type “IDA Y VUELTA” for both inbound and outbound trips, as it is usually the most economical option.


If you are looking for a more economical option, you take the bus from Barcelona or
Madrid to Zaragoza Alsa. The trip takes ~4h and the standard fare for both trips is ~35€ from both cities.

Passports & Visas

To enter Spain, a passport valid for at least three months beyond length of stay is required by non-UE nationals.

EU nationals are only required to present evidence of their EU nationality and identity in order to be admitted to Spain. This evidence can take the form of a valid national passport or national identity card. Either is acceptable.

Visas for Spain are not required by nationals of EU countries regardless of the purpose and/or length of stay; and not required by nationals of other countries (Australia, Canada, UK, USA) for stays of up to 90 days. Other nationalities may check with the Spanish consulate for further requirements.

How to reach the conference venue

The Betancourt Building

The Betancourt Building is located at the Rio Ebro Campus (north Zaragoza), at 20 minutes by taxi from the Zaragoza airport or 10 minutes from the train/bus station and the city centre.

The easiest and most comfortable way to arrive to the Rio Ebro Campus / Betancourt Building by tram (line L1 towards Av. Academia, stop “Campus Rio Ebro”). Tram timetables and routes can be checked here: Tranvias

Public Transport

You can also plan your routes through the city, in case you need to take the bus or walk for the closest tram stop. You can use the local router planer

With the registration, every delegate will receive a transport card with enough trips to attend the complete congress programme. This public transport card may be charged if they wish to do more trips during their stay in Zaragoza.


There are also taxi stops in the airport, the train/bus stations to arrive to the venue.
